Ododo Inaugurates Kogi NG-Cares 2.0 Steering Committee

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on Thursday inaugurated the State Steering Committee on Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus two points zero Committee (NG-CARES).

 

Inaugurating the Committee, the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo represented the the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State charged them to provide oversight and policy guidelines for the programme in the State.

The Governor urged them to work hard to end poverty in every nook and cranny of the State.

According to him, the Committee members were carefully selected to champion the cause of delivering the mandate of the programme.

 

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to poverty reduction by using the resources of the State for the development of Kogi State.

 

Responding on behalf of the Committee, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Hajiya Rabiatu Okute promised to deliver on the mandate given to them.

 

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance Budget and Economic Planning, Ochu Philip thanked the Governor for the opportunity to serve and promised to justify the trust reposed in them.

 

On his part, the State Coordinator of the NG-CARES, Sunday Ijoche, who is the Secretary of the Committee said the project is aimed at building resilience, poverty alleviate and food security.

 

According to him, the NG-CARES 2.0 is the continuation of the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programme NG-CARES 1.0 across the thirty six States and the Federal Capital Territory.

 

Members of the Steering Committee are; Idris Asiru, Chairman, Ochu Philip, Habibat Onumoko, Yakubu Okala, Jerry Omodara, Timothy Ojomah, Rabiatu Okute, Acharu Okpanachi, Monday Anyebe, Abdulmutalib Mohammed, Joseph Oluwasegun, Sunday Ijoche, Secretary.
