Former NLC Chairman, Comrade James Odaudu Goes home, Clergy Calls on Everyone to Live Exemplary Lifestyle

‎A religious leader and Minister in charge of ECWA Goodnews Church, Lokoja, Reverend Paul Samuel Ogere has urged Christians to be wary of the life hereafter in order to embrace Godly lives.

‎Reverend Paul Samuel Ogere made the call on Friday at the funeral of late former Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC in Kogi State, Comrade James Odaudu at his Country home, Ofoda-Abocho in Biraidu District of Dekina Local Government Area.

‎Reverend Paul Samuel Ogere who spoke on the topic ‘ The ultimate appointment”, noted that everyone has a time to die, saying it is a devine appointment.

‎He said death is inevitable as it only comes turn by turn and at a time that is unknown.

‎The religious leader noted that “a day is coming when you can do nothing on your own, what you used to love, or enjoy will be presented and you can longer respond”, he explained.

‎He urged everyone to get prepared as no one knows his or her time, warning that everyone should equally be careful on his conduct as life belongs to no one.

‎”Always remember that a day is coming and death is followed by judgement which no one can escape, we must all appear before the judgement seat of God”, he remarked.

‎Reverend Paul Samuel Ogere appealed to the congregation to prepare, examine themselves, stressing that Nigeria is in dare need of righteous men, emphasizing that this is what the communities are crying for to make the Country a better place.

‎He described the late Odaudu as a trusted believer in Christ, saying his obedience to Christ was unique, urging the people to walk daily with Christ.



‎Earlier in his remark, the Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka said the late Comrade Odaudu lived to please everyone, sacrificed all his has for the workforce and was a humbled labour leader who achieved much during his time as NLC Chairman.

‎He stated that the death of Comrade Odaudu was a shock to the State Chief servant, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and expressed his condolences to the immediate family, and the organized labour in the State on the painful loss.

‎Comrade Edoka appealed to those who thought the late labour leader did not meet their expectations to forgive him as he gave his best without compromising the welfare of workers.

‎”Let me say it clearly here that late Comrade Odaudu was not a rich man, he only served deligently and handed over to me, he was prudent in the management of funds at his disposal and so, he did well and he was a good man with effective human relations”, Hon. Edoka remarked.

‎Others in their testimonies, including the Chairman of the Men Fellowship of ECWA Good news Church, the staff of Kogi State Sports Council, Biraidu Development Association, BDA, and others described late Odaudu as a noble man with conscience, an exemplary leader whose legacies will remain indelible.

‎The Chairman of NLC in Kogi State, Comrade Gabriel Amari led the State Administrative Council, SAC, and State Executive Council, SEC of the NLC and other labour groups to the funeral.
