Kogi State Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo has charged Security Agencies in the State to do more in ensuring adequate protection of lives and property.
The Governor gave the charge at the inauguration of facelift infrastructure at the State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Before now, the condition of the Kogi State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) was not in good shape as the State headquarters is now wearing a new look courtesy of the visionary leadership of the Commandant.
The Projects inaugurated by the Governor are; Sentry Quarter Guard, Extension of Provost Office, Photo Stand, Perimeter fencing and General Facelift of the Command
Speaking in a message to the occasion, Governor Ododo represented by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Timothy Ojomah applauded the Commandant of NSCDC, Mr. Olumide Aletan for adding value to the Command.
According to the Governor, his administration is committed to the safety of the people of the State, saying no threats will make the State to negotiate with Criminals.
He expressed gratitude to the officers and men of the Corp in the State for their support to his efforts in providing safety for the people.
In his goodwill message, the
Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Security Trust Fund, Air Vice Marshal Omeiza Umar (rtd.) described the change in the command as massive, assuring that his office will continue to provide the necessary support that will enhance their jobs.
He appealed to well-to-do individuals in the State to support Security Agencies, urging the Command to add value more value to the State.
Earlier, the Commandant, Mr. Olumide Aletan said upon assumption of office, he promised to reposition the condition of the Command, hence the embarkment on the project.
According to him, the facelift for the Command was achieved due to dedication, commitment and support of well meaning individuals, and expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his support as demonstration of dedication to security has ensured safety of lives and property in the State.
He urged personnel of the Corp to uphold the highest level of discipline and renew their dedication to duty.
There were goodwill messages from representatives of sister security Agencies, who commended the initiative of the Commandant, while the representative of the Governor inspected the Quarter Guard of the Command.
