Student Loan Must Continue, Nihi Woos Nigerian Students for Tinubu Re- Election

The Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Youth and Students’ Matters, Comrade Oladele John Nihi, says the Nigerian Education Loan (NELFUND) must continue, urging Students and young Nigerians to support the reelection bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Comrade Nihi made this known while speaking on this week edition of state of Kogi a radio Kogi audience participatory programme.

One of the outstanding Quality of the Present Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the introduction of the Nigerian Education Loan (NELFUND) popularly known as students loan.

NELFUND provides loans without interest, making repayment more affordable after graduation as it covers tuition and upkeep, Reduces financial pressure on families, Promotes equal opportunities among others.

Comrade Nihi said the continuity of the Tinubu administration would ensure the sustainability and expansion of the student loan scheme and other youth-focused policies.

He said apart from the NELFUND, the subsidy removal, proposed State Police, Entertainment Intervention Fund are brilliant decisions of the present administration that has changed the narratives of governance compared to the past.

He however said many youths have been empowered in the State both direct and indirectly, saying the engagement of the young populace in the governance of the State has made them to believe in the present administration.

The Special Adviser described the Governor as a security proactive Man, who has been doing everything humanly possible to provide safety for the people especially the youths and students.

The Governor’s Aide maintained that his office in partnership with the ministry of Youth and sports and that of education is developing a programme to sensitize the youth and students on the use of digital skill library.

On the forthcoming OJN Symposium in Lokoja on Wednesday, Comrade Nihi said the gathering is to provide mentorship for youths fully funded by him, adding that dignitaries from all walks of life are set to grace the programme.
