Kogi Hotels and Tourism Board says it is developing a yearly calendar of activities to highlight the cultural and tourist attractions of the State.
General Manager of the Board, Prince Philip Orebiyi, who made this known in a statement said the move was aimed at promoting the State as a premier of tourist destination.
According to him, the Calendar when completed will showcase the rich cultural heritage of the State and attract visitors from far and wide.
He enjoined Communities across the three senatorial districts to package their unique cultural profiles for submission to the Board as soon as possible.
“By submitting their profiles, communities in Kogi State can increase their visibility, appeal to tourists, and reap numerous economic benefits.
He identified the Economic Benefits of Promoting Cultural Tourism to include job creation, increased revenue generation, Cultural Preservation and Infrastructure Development.
According to the General Manager, the present administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is committed to developing the tourism sector as a tool for social reengineering and creating wealth for the people.
