The Chairman of the Kogi State Joint Public Service Negotiating Council, Comrade Olusegun Alemeru, has described Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as God-sent, saying his administration has distinguished itself from previous governments, especially in workers’ welfare.
Alemeru also called on workers in the state to support the governor’s second-term ambition, stressing that there was no need to change a performing administration.
Alemeru spoke shortly after receiving a brand new bus donated to the council by the state government at the Government House, Lokoja.
He said the governor has continued to do the unexpected by prioritising the welfare of workers.
According to him, it is the first time the JNC will be given a bus, describing it as historic and a deviation from the past.
“This is the very first time a governor will donate a bus to the Joint Council and it is happening under my leadership. It is heartwarming, highly impressive and a sign that the governor is committed to excellence and the improved wellbeing of workers, ensuring that all organs of organised labour function properly,” he said.
The labour leader also commended the governor for his planned massive recruitment into the civil service, promotions and other welfare packages, noting that they would enhance productivity.
Alemeru expressed appreciation to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, for his selfless service.
“Let me thank our leader, Comrade Emeritus and Ambassador, Comrade Chief Onuh Edoka, for being truly there for us. He is a man of God, a sincere leader who places public interest above personal aggrandisement. He has shown again that he remains a perfect link between us and the government. This bus is a surprise and the first in the history of Kogi State. We will continue to pray for him,” he added.
