The Chairman of Bassa Local Government Area, Honourable Theophilus Daruwana Adama has inaugurated the Bassa Local Government Secretary and Supervisory Councillors with a charge to be true servants of the people of the area.
While addressing the new appointees, the Chairman praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the privilege given to him, the Councillors and the Supervisors to serve the people of Bassa Local Government Area.
The Chairman who read the message of the Governor pleaded with the people of the Area to maintain total peace and tolerance.
The Governor assured the people of Bassa of much development and empowerment if only they could maintain peace in the Area.
While addressing the Secretary and Supervisory Councillors, the chairman charged them to be servants of the Local Government and work in harmony with the Legislative Arm in the Local Government to achieve desired development.
He enjoined the Supervisors to shun politics of self aggrandizement but reach out to their various Wards and Communities with dividends of democracy.
He advised them to lead with the fear of God as their selection was not based on their hard works for the party but the grace of God.
Alhaji Abdullahi Saleh Ali, the Council Secretary who spoke on behalf of the Supervisory Councillors thanked the Chairman, Honourable Theophilus Daruwana Adama and his Vice, Honourable Aisha Idris Aliyu, the Legislative Arm of the Local Government and their teaming supporters for their appointments.
He promised that they will work according to the laid down principles to serve the people of the Local Government efficiently and with the fear of God.
Those inaugurated as Supervisory Councillors are:
Hon. Haruna Ali, Hon. Bako Tashilane,
Hon. Abdulganiyu Musa and
Hon. Alhassan Baba Muhammed.
