INEC Declares Aiyedatiwa of APC Winner of Ondo Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of The All Progressives Congress APC as the winner of Ondo State Governorship election .

GOV. Aiyedatiwa, contested against Agboola Ajayi of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olorunfemi Festus of the Labour Party and Abbas Mimiko Zenith Labour Party, ZLP.

He was declared the winner having secured the highest vote of 366,781 against PDP’s Ajayi that scored 117,845 and Labour Party which got 1162 in the election.

Announcing the result in Akure, the state capital, INEC’s Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Lokoja, Prof. Akinwumi Olayemi, said Aiyedatiwa polled a total of 366781 while Ajayi got 117845 while LP had 1162.

He said, ”Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the APC having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of lawful votes cast, is hereby returned elected.”
