The First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Ahmed Usman Ododo, has expressed profound appreciation to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, for her unwavering commitment to the welfare and empowerment of women, families, and vulnerable groups across the country.
Hajia Sefinat Ododo gave the commendation while receiving the wives of the 21 Local Government Chairmen in Kogi State, who paid her a courtesy visit in Lokoja ahead of the forthcoming electioneering activities in the state.
The meeting provided an opportunity to deliberate on strategies for strengthening grassroots mobilization, deepening women’s participation in governance and community development, and sustaining support for initiatives that positively impact the lives of citizens across Kogi State.
The First Lady noted that the various intervention programmes championed by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, particularly through the Renewed Hope Initiative, have continued to uplift women, support families, and provide hope to vulnerable members of society. She described the Nigerian First Lady as a shining example of compassionate leadership and a strong advocate for the advancement of women and children.
Hajia Sefinat Ododo also emphasized the need for unity, peaceful political engagement, and collective responsibility among women leaders at all levels.
She urged the wives of the Local Government chairmen to remain steadfast in promoting peace, encouraging civic participation, and supporting government initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
According to her, women remain critical stakeholders in nation-building and must continue to play active roles in fostering harmony, mobilizing communities for development, and strengthening democratic values at the grassroots.
The wives of the 21 Local Government Chairmen commended the First Lady for her impactful leadership and unwavering dedication to the welfare of women, children, and vulnerable groups in Kogi State.

They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting programmes and policies designed to empower women, youths, and disadvantaged members of society, while pledging to work closely with the Office of the First Lady to deepen grassroots engagement and expand the reach of developmental initiatives across the state.
The delegation also expressed appreciation for the First Lady’s efforts in promoting social inclusion, economic empowerment, and community-based interventions that are transforming lives and strengthening families across Kogi State.
The visit underscored the shared commitment of women leaders in the state to advancing inclusive development, promoting peaceful coexistence, and supporting initiatives that improve the quality of life of citizens at the grassroots.
