Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Salisu Usman Ogbo  said the initiative was a milestone in the management’s drive to improve welfare through accessible, affordable and eco-friendly transportation.

He said the solar-powered tricycles would provide cheaper transport within the campus and complement motorcycle operations as part of measures to enhance security and ease of movement.

The Vice-Chancellor commended the facilitator of the initiative, Mr Isah Ojodunwene, Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor, for supporting the university’s vision of a conducive learning environment.

He urged the operators to exhibit professionalism, maintain the tricycles in good condition and work with the university community for efficient service delivery.
