Olamaboro LG Workers Receive Workplace Security Campaign Team, Commend Ododo, Edoka

Workers of Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State on Wednesday received the Workplace Security Campaign team led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka.

The workers, who turned out in large numbers in their union attires, sang solidarity and cultural songs to welcome the team, describing Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Edoka as their own.

Receiving the team on behalf of the council chairman, the Director of Local Government, Mr Ojile Gabriel, described the visit as a homecoming and commended the Special Adviser for being a worthy ambassador of the area.

Ojile said there would be no need to campaign for the governor’s re-election in the local government in view of his achievements, noting that the administration had brought smiles to the faces of workers.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers in Olamaboro LGA, Comrade James Agidike, said the governor’s attention to workers’ welfare was a departure from the past, stressing the need for continuity of both the governor and President Bola Tinubu.

In his remarks, a former President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees and member of the Kogi State Fiscal Responsibility Commission, Comrade Tom Abutu, said the campaign was about hope and consolidation.

Abutu appreciated the workers for the warm reception, which he said showed their acceptance of the Ododo-led administration, and urged them to sustain their support.

In his address, Edoka said the campaign was aimed at sensitising workers on the need to be security conscious both within and outside the workplace, including the security of their jobs.

He urged the workers to support the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo to guarantee their welfare and job security.
