The Chairmen of Dekina and Omala Local Government Areas of Kogi State, Hon. John Urah Ikani and Hon. Edibo Mark Ameh have described the Workplace Security Campaign as a right step towards effective grassroots mobilization ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The Chairmen stated this separately when the Campaign Team visited their respective Local Government Secretariats on Friday.
In Dekina, the Chairman, Hon. John Ikani said the initiative has made political campaigns easier and commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for approving the programme, which he noted is result-oriented.
Hon. Ikani described the Team Leader and Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, as a dogged fighter and congratulated the All Progressives Congress, APC, for having him as a frontline member.
He assured that workers in Dekina Local Government Area are solidly behind the present administration, citing the cordial relationship between their leaders and his office as a testament to the good leadership of the Ododo administration.


Similarly, the Chairman of Omala Local Government Area, Hon. Edibo Mark Ameh said effective partnership with labour is essential to drive government policies and programmes and to ensure total victory in the coming elections.
Hon. Ameh emphasized that Governor Ododo has made campaigns easier through responsive governance and lauded him for improving security in the area, particularly with the establishment of Forward Operating Base, FOB, at Bagana.
Labour leaders in the two local government areas assured that their members are in full support of the re-election bid of Governor Ododo and President Bola Tinubu, based on their commitment to workers’ welfare.
Earlier, the Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, stressed that the importance of security cannot be overemphasized in view of present societal challenges.
Comrade Edoka, who enumerated the achievements of the administration, said there is need to support the Governor and the President in their re-election bid to guarantee job security and sustainable development.
In his remarks, the Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Gabriel Amari, appreciated workers in the two local government councils for the warm reception accorded the team.
Cultural troupes entertained the team during the visits.
