Kogi State Female Cricket Athletes Wins National Under 17 Cricket Championship

Kogi State Female Cricket athletes has won Silver medal at the 2024 North Central national Under-17 Cricket Championship in Abuja.

Receiving the athletes in his office on Wednesday, the New Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday A Anyebe described the development as heartwarming.

Hon. Monday A. Anyebe said on assumption of office, he received the good news with sense of commitment, saying he will work assiduously towards the growth of sporting activities in the state.

He emphasized that the present administration under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has passion to move sports to enviable position.

The Commissioner encouraged the athletes to do more by putting more efforts in their sporting activities and advised them not to relent in their efforts.

Hon. Monday A Anyebe assured the athletes that the Ministry will work harder to enhanced their performance by creating enabling environment.

The Commissioner Congratulated the athletes on the victory and promised to submit the report to the government.

Speaking on behalf of the athletes, the Head Coach of the kogi State under Seventeen Cricket Mr. Omolaiye Edisha thanked the Commissioner for receiving them warmly and assured that the athletes would remain dedication and to the course.

Members of the management staff witnessed the ceremony, including the state Director of sports Council, Mr.Obakachi Onipe.
