Kogi State government has approved the Nigeria union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Center Lokoja as free viewing center for the African cup of Nations (AFCON) Final match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Ivory Coast today beginning at nine o’clock in the evening.
A statement by The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday A. Anyebe said the earlier proposed venue for the event which was the GYB Model Secondary school Adankolo- Lokoja has been changed for logistics reasons.
A statement by the commissioner through the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry ,Mr.James Sani said the gesture by the Kogi State government which has been approved by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is to allow the public to view the finals without hitches.
The Statement advised members of the state Executive council and Other political appointees to take advantage of the opportunity to watch the match with sports enthusiasts in the state.
According to the statement, adequate security has been provided for the venue to ensure a conducive atmosphere devoid of disturbances and advised viewers to conduct themselves in a matured manner.
