The Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Youth and Student Affairs, Oladele John Nihi, has described the senatorial aspiration of former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello as a movement that goes beyond the representation of Kogi Central Senatorial District.
Nihi who stated this in a statement noted that the aspiration represents a strategic opportunity for the advancement of Kogi State and the strengthening of the state’s voice within the national political structure.
According to him, the former governor remains one of the most nationally recognized political figures to emerge from the state in recent years because of his leadership experience, political network, and commitment to youth inclusion.
He explained that Kogi State currently requires stronger visibility and strategic representation at the national level, stressing that the emergence of Yahaya Bello in the National Assembly will attract greater opportunities, stronger federal presence, and accelerated development for the state.
The Governor’s aide recalled that during his tenure as governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello demonstrated courage in leadership through deliberate investments in youth participation, women inclusion, infrastructural development, and security advancement across the state.
He noted that many young Nigerians still regard the former governor as a symbol of generational leadership and political inclusiveness.
Nihi urged Kogites, irrespective of political affiliation, ethnicity, or senatorial district, to see the aspiration as a collective interest capable of promoting the future growth and relevance of the state at the national level.
He also called on youths across the State to rally support for the project, noting that the future belongs to young people who are willing to support visionary leadership, competence, and strategic representation.
The Special Adviser maintained that the aspiration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello should not be viewed merely as a political contest, but as an avenue for strengthening the position of Kogi State within the Nigerian federation.
