Kogi State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo has appealed to Nigerians to exercise a little patience with the President Bola Tinubu administration.
Fanwo made the appeal at the Nigeria’s 25th Democracy Day Celebration held at the Government House Lokoja.
The Commissioner who said the reforms of the government were not intended to punish anybody, insisted that President Tinubu was moving in the right direction.
On the new minimum wage, Fanwo urged the people to be cautious of the economic dynamics to ensure they don’t push the Nation into inflation.
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Monday Anyebe, called on Youths in the State to continue to promote peace, unity and to demand good governance from their leaders.
The Commissioner said the celebration of the twenty-fifth years of uninterrupted Democracy In Nigeria from 1999 till date is a collective effort that requires active participation.
He called on the Youths to continue to strive for a nation where their voices are heard, rights are respected, and their dreams achievable.
Anyebe applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for demonstrating unwavering commitment to democratic values and economic growth.
According to the Commissioner, the President’s laudable achievement since assumption of office are testaments to his vision for a prosperous Nigeria.
He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for working tirelessly to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor to develop the state and improve the lives of the people.
The Commissioner assured of his commitment to empowering the youths and harnessing their energies for a brighter future.
On his part, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youths and Student Matters, Niyi Oladele described the Day as a testament to the power of democracy and the resilience of the nation.
According to him, the celebration with the theme “Renewed Hope Agenda: Celebrating President Bola Tinubu’s Unprecedented Achievements and Consolidation of Democracy” resonates deeply with Kogi State.
Niyi acknowledge the remarkable strides President Tinubu has taken to strengthen democracy and improve the lives of Nigerians.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support to the State in the successful rescue of kidnapped students from Kogi State University of Science and Technology, Osara.
Highlight of the program were goodwill messages from NYSC, NDLEA, NAKOSS, NYCN as well as cultural display by the NYSC cultural group.
