Children of Nobody Now Have Access To Education Under President Tinubu – Prof. Eniola

The Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University Kabba, Professor Kehinde Eniola has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the introduction of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND)

Professor Eniola gave the commendation while speaking on this week’s edition of State of Kogi, a Radio Kogi audience participatory programme.

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) is a Student Loan initiative established by the Federal Government to break financial barriers limiting access to higher education in the country.

Students of Kogi State University, Kanba have benefited from the programme which according to the Vice Chancellor, has made the children of Nobody in the society to have access to quality tertiary education.

The initiative the Professor Eniola noted was commendable saying seventy five percent of students admitted into the current academic sessions benefitted from the programme.

According to him, while the University has continued to grow with more infrastructure as well as provision of conducive academic atmosphere, the Institution under his watch is committed to laying a solid foundation for a digitally inclined citadel of learning.

Professor Eniola stated that plans are on to introduce Faculties of Agriculture and Engineering, saying the first set of the University will graduate next year.

The Vice Chancellor maintained that the Institution has received massive support with the ongoing construction of one thousand six hundred sitting capacity lecture theatre by Doctor John Adegboye.

He said all twenty three programmes of the University have been fully accredited, pointing out that the institution is targeting about six thousand students in the next admission.

While fielding question from a Caller, Adeiza from Koton Karfe on the application for employment, the Vice Chancellor noted that advertisement will soon be placed as soon as approvals are done.

Another Caller, Solomon Yahaya, commended the Vice Chancellor for what he called inclusion of People living with disabilities in admission and recruitment.
