Be Selfless, Ofu DLG Tells Executives of Medical and Health Workers Union

The Director of Ofu Local Government, Deaconess Rachael Ukwo John has called on the people in position of authority in the Local Government to serve the people selflessly.

Deaconess Racheal made the call at the Local Government Secretariat, Ugwolawo during the inauguration of the newly elected executives of the Medical and Health Workers Union, Ofu Local Government Branch.

She said the commitment of leaders in this administration will not be the business as usual, stressing that the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo will not tolerate idleness and indiscipline.

The Director of Ofu Local Government noted that any position obtained in life, was ordained by God and called on the members of the Medical and Health Workers Union to cooperate with the newly inaugurated Executive for them to succeed.

Earlier, the State Chairman of Health and Medical Workers Union of Nigeria, Comrade Gabriel Amari commended Deaconess Rachael John for her support for the workers unions in Ofu Local Government.

Comrade Amari who is also the Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Kogi State, noted that the backbone and life wire of Medical and Health workers Union in Kogi State are the past leaders from Kogi east.

He said Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is passionate about workers in Kogi State, noting that he has inaugurated a committee for the implementation of Seventy Percent National Minimum Wage in Kogi State, both for State and Local government workers.

The State Chairman of Health and Medical Workers Union of Nigeria charged the newly inaugurated executive of the union in Ofu Local Government to take service to humanity as a priority.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman of Medical and Health workers Unio in Ofu, Comrade Joseph Omale thanked the Director of Ofu Local Government and the State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Gabriel Amari for their commitment to Health Workers Union, Ofu branch.
Comrade Joseph called on members to support him in his efforts to reposition the union in the area for greater exploits.
