Kogi State Government says it will come up with policies and Programmes to fight against drug abuse in the state.
The State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon Monday A Anyebe disclosed during a visit to the State Commandant of NDLEA Commander Umar Yahuza Mustapha at the Command office in Lokoja.
Hon Monday A Anyebe said the visit to NDLEA was to collaborate with the Command and to enlightening the people on the danger of drugs abuse.
The Commissioner called on the NDLEA kogi command to partner with the state government to regulate the abuse of drugs in the state.
Hon Monday A Anyebe said already his ministry is working on propose programmes on drugs abuse saying when approved the ministry will involve NDLEA command in the state on the enlightenment Programme among the youth in the state.
He said the present administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is out to better the life of Youth in the state.
The Commissioner restated the commitment and dedication of the present administration towards ensuring youth that the state leave a positive life and appealed to the commandant to work with him to ensure Free drug abuse in the state.
He expressed praised the commandant for the warm reception accorded him and his delegation.
The Kogi State Commandant of the NDLEA, Umar Yahuza Mustapha described the visit of the Commissioner as timely saying he will put all his efforts towards the fight against drug abuse in the state.
The Commissioner was accompanied by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and woman mobilization Hon Charity Omole.
