Ade-Bada Foundation Hosts 2nd Biennial Conference/Lecture on Disability Inclusion

Ade-Bada Foundation International has announced plans to hold its 2nd Biennial Conference and Lecture on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Kogi State Council of NUJ Press Centre in Lokoja.

The conference, themed “United For Ability: Changing the Disability Narrative,” is aimed at promoting inclusion and creating opportunities for persons living with disabilities to be supported, empowered, and fully integrated into society.

Speaking ahead of the event, the organizers noted that the conference will serve as a platform to address challenges faced by persons with disabilities while advocating for policies and actions that will enhance their participation in all aspects of national development.

The keynote lecture will be delivered by Prof. Johnson Orugun, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.

The event will be chaired by the National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Alhassan Yahaya.

Dignitaries expected at the event include the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, as Special Guest of Honour.

Other Guests of Honour are the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Aliyu Yusuf; Hon. (Architect) Salman Idris, Member of the House of Representatives Dr. Femi Fashagba, Provost, College of Education, Ankpa; Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, Commissioner of Information, Kogi State and Honorable Asiwaju Ashiru Idris Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Planning, Kogi State as Anchor Supporter.

The Royal Father of the Day is His Royal Majesty, Rtd. Col. Olusegun Oloruntoba, the Olugbede of Gbede Land, while the Fathers of the Day are Hon. Chief Samuel AbiodunOjo, Chairman, Biodun and Associates and Dr. Habeeb Yakeen, Proprietor, Al-za group of Schools.

Chief Sheddy Ozoene, Vice president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors is to serve as the Chief Host.

According to the convener, Pastor Bada Adeniyi Ezekiel, the event highlights “the urgent need for collective action in changing societal perceptions about disability, stressing that individuals with disabilities possess immense potential that must be harnessed for societal growth.”

Pastor Bada called on members of the public, stakeholders, and relevant organizations to attend the conference and contribute to building a more inclusive society where no one is left behind.
