Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable AridaOjo Monday Anyebe says all is now set for the Kogi State Half Marathon scheduled for tomorrow.
While inspecting the medical fitness test for the participants at the Confluence Stadium on Wednesday, the Commissioner said the Marathon will be a huge success considering the level of preparations.
According to him, over ten states are already on ground for the exercise, while over two hundred athletes have registered to participate in the marathon.
Honourable AridaOjo Monday Anyebe noted that volunteers are putting finishing touches to their strategies in order to ensure hitch free Marathon, appealing for the cooperation of relevant stakeholders towards the success of the programme.
”From what you can see, everything is ready for this exercise, Medical fitness test is ongoing, volunteers are on ground, security is being arranged and other things that needed to be in place, so we don’t have challenges at all, and we are sure that the celebration of the second Anniversary of the Governor, the Chief servant will be a huge success”, the Commissioner stated.
Highlight of the visit was medical fitness test on the Commissioner who was certified fit for the Marathon by the health professionals.
The Kogi Half Marathon is billed to take place on Thursday, the twenty second of this month, beginning at the Felele axis of Lokoja, through Crusher to Zone eight and to terminate at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Center.
Winners are also expected to go home with specific prices.
