Leke Abejide Remains Undisputable National Leader of ADC, Concerned Party Members Insists

A group under the aegis of Concerned Members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in Kogi State have reaffirmed that the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Elder Leke Abejide remains the Undisputable National Leader of the Party.

The Group made their position known while briefing Newsmen on Wednesday in Kabba, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area.

Spokesman for the Group, Lukman Usman, said following credible intelligence that certain persons are out to hijack the Party in the State through unconstitutional means, such effort will be firmly resisted with every legal and constitutional instrument.

According to him, ADC is governed by constitution, values, and democratic ethics, saying any attempt to destroy the gains of the Party will be resisted.

“Credible intelligence available to us indicates that certain individuals, unknown to our structures and alien to our operations, are plotting to forcefully take over the leadership of the ADC in Kogi State. While the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria guarantees freedom of association, and while our party constitution equally provides avenues for legitimate membership, no individual or group has the right to unconstitutionally topple the leadership of our party.

“For the avoidance of doubt, we reaffirm our unflinching loyalty to Rt. Hon. Elder Leke Abejide, the undisputed leader of the African Democratic Congress in Kogi State. We do not recognize or associate with political opportunists and strange bedfellows who seek to crawl in through the window and distabilize our collective heritage.

“It should be stated unequivocally that thousands of our members across the State are already agitated and charged by this disturbing development with total determination to stop any attempt by frustrated political wanderers to destabilize our dear party.

He called on security agencies in the State to take urgent notice of this threat and act decisively to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

The Spokesman also urged security Personnel not to honor, recognize, or provide security coverage for any meeting, gathering, or activity in the name of the ADC that does not emanate from Elder Leke Abejide as such gathering is illegal.

Usman charged all genuine members of the ADC across Kogi State to remain calm, vigilant, and committed to the unity and progress of the party.
