Gov Ododo Presents Over 582 Billion Naira 2025 Budget

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has presented over Five hundred and Eighty Two billion Nara twenty twenty-five budget to the State House of Assembly.

Tagged budget of inclusive Development, next year’s budget estimate is higher than this year by over one hundred and seventy six billion naira.

The total estimated recurrent revenue of over three hundred and ninety nine billion naira consist of over thirty four billion naira from internal source, seventy billion naira as statutory allocation from the federation account, ninety billion naira from value added tax and two hundred million naira from excess non-oil among others.

According to the Governor, the estimated personnel cost, over head cost and other recurrent and public debt charges stand at over two hundred and seventy nine billion naira, while the estimated capital receipt is over one hundred and eighty three billion naira, noting that if the transfer surplus of over one hundred and nineteen billion naira is added the government will have available capital of over three hundred and two billion naira for projects.

Governor Ododo noted that the budget was proposed to ensure reforms that will address the weakness in all sectors of the state economy.

He expressed hope that all the leaders will work together to end the ongoing crisis in the nation.

Governor Ododo noted that his administration has developed a thirty two-year development plan with the theme “Shared hope and prosperity”

He said the document is a comprehensive roadmap designed to transform Kogi State into a striving, inclusive and sustainable economy.

According to the Governor, his administration’s approach will continue to prioritize investments in youth empowerment, education, and infrastructure, following the legacies of his predecessor.

He said he will strive to complete every single project in each of the twenty one Local Governments areas of the state, while encouraging citizens to take ownership of the budget process.
