It was a massive celebration in Kogi State as Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON stormed the state to commission projects executed by the Governor of the State, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo in his first year in Office.
The Vice President who commissioned the Zone 8 – Barracks – Shettima – Zango Dual Carriage Road as well as the Zone 8 – Crusher Dual Carriage Road also proceeded to chair the Kogi Dialogue, an Anniversary Event that brought all Kogites from different parties and ethnicities together to discuss and chart a new path for the development of the State.
The Vice President who was in the state to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while commissioning the projects, hailed the Governor’s commitment to executing people-oriented projects.
“These projects in just one year is an indication of the readiness of the Governor to truly serve his people. This is quite impressive”, he said.
He called on the people of the State to support the Governor to continue to deliver democracy dividends to the people.
At the Kogi Dialogue, the immediate past Governor of the State, Alh Yahaya Bello who spoke on behalf of all former Governors said the Kogi vision is taking shape under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
He said the Governor is “religiously executing the 32 Years Development Plan put in place by his administration. He thanked all the former Governors for their contributions to the development of the State and urged the people to continue to support Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The Governor, Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo challenged the Kogi stakeholders on the need to ensure unity in order to unlock the opportunities that abound in the state.
He also used the occasion to give account of his stewardship.
Governor Ododo assured the leaders and the people of the State of his commitment to put the state above political or ethnic sentiments.
In the same vein, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress and former Kano Governor, Alh. Umar Ganduje said Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has made the party proud, assuring the Governor of the party’s support in continuing to deliver his promises to the Kogi people.
In his remarks, the Vice President Kashim Shettima commended former Governor Yahaya Bello for showing leadership, saying Kogi is teaching the rest of Nigeria on how predecessors and sitting Governors should relate.
He commended the Governor for bringing everyone together in the state, saying his action will usher in a new era of unity and peace among the people.
