The appointment which was greeted with jubilation among Staff and the generality of the Kogi State Populace was part of the demonstration of the belief of the present administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo that Women are good Leaders if given the mandate.

The elevation of Princess Nana Hauwa, a God fearing woman and an Amazon has in the last two years heralded good tidings of great joy to the Management and Staff of the Corporation.

She has no doubt demonstrated and justified the saying that “What a man can do, a woman can do better” as she has not only proven to be competent but a Team Leader, who has piloted the affairs of the Radio from analogue to Digital.

It is a statement of Fact that under Princess Nana’s leadership in Radio Kogi, the lost glory of the Radio Station has been restored as it now stands tall to compete with its counterpart around the world.

One remarkable achievement of her administration in the State Radio is that it came, saw and has conquered the difficulties of broadcasting for a few hours to more than twelve hours per day, compared to the epileptic broadcast experienced before assumption of office.

Her administration has also given the Radio Studio a facelift with provision of modern equipment and aesthetic that fits a standard Radio Station anywhere in the world.

Princess Nana as fondly called has without mincing word, proven not to be a Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation but a sincere Mother and friend of all, who opened her doors for suggestions that have kept the Station running effectively.

With the purposeful leadership provided by the current Director General, the Morale of the Staff have been boosted to work and dedicate themselves to duty.

She has no doubt been proactive to any issue brought to her attention about the Corporation, a unique quality of a Leader which has distinguished him or herself to service.

For the first time in the history of the Corporation, the Radio now has an internet network that now enables the Staff to have unhindered access to internet service, thereby boosting service delivery.

In the same vein, under the Princess Nana Hauwa led administration, the State Radio is now back with it’s online Radio which has now enabled indigenes of the State across the globe to have access to information about happenings in the State.

Similarly, her administration has introduced annual get-together for management and Staff of the Radio, a platform for workers of the Corporation to wine and dine as well as relax after about three hundred and sixty five days of promoting government policies and programmes.

Since training and retraining is key to performance, the present Director General has facilitated trainings for Staff both within and outside the State.

The bold initiative of her administration has eliminated analogue operation as all departments and units now operate digitally in line with the programmes of the Federal Government on the digital switch over.

From time to time, Princess Nana has through her office reached out to Staff who were sick and needed Medical attention with financial support, a gesture seen by many that could only come from a woman with a heart of Gold.

One of the landmark achievements of the current Director General with the support of the Commissioner of Information and Communication, Chief Kingsley Fanwo is the approval by Governor Ododo for the building of a befitting structure for Radio Kogi Okeneba as it is the only booster station that does not have its own office accommodation.

Also, the Princess Nana Hauwa leadership is set to celebrate the thirty fifth Anniversary of the establishment of the Radio Station come August 27th 2026 as arrangements are already on top gear.

From the foregoing, one could only conclude to state that the two years in office of Princess Nana Hauwa Yussuff has been rewarding and remarkable with many organizations and group recognizing her performance, thereby conferring on her Awards of Excellence.

To management and Staff who have stood with the Director General, much have been achieved in the last seven hundred and thirty days through their support and cooperation as well as dedication to duty.

This is commendable and all these cannot be actualized without the support of the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, who had from time to time expressed confidence in the leadership of Princess Nana Hauwa Yusuff.

As the Director General marks her two years in office today, one could say that with her commitment and dedication to duty, better days are ahead for the State Radio.
