Maigari of Lokoja Visits Hospitals, Offers Gifts To Mark His One Year In Office

The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfe the fourth has emphasized the need for more attention to the needy in the society.

Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfe the fourth made the call on Tuesday during visits to the Federal Teaching Hospital and Specialist Hospital in Lokoja.

The traditional ruler who donated items and cash to patients in the two hospitals, noted that the society can only be a better place when attention is given to the less privileged and the vulnerable among the people.

He explained that his visit to the patients in the hospitals was to show love as directed by Allah, stressing that it is very rewarding to give as he marks one year in office

The Maigari described his one year in office as a period of stock taking, saying that the position offers him opportunity to provide selfless services to the people and appreciated the royal fathers and other well wishers for identifying with him at such a memorable period.

In his speech while receiving the traditional ruler, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Doctor Olatunde Alabi described the visit as first of its kind and commended the Maigari for his love for the people.

While at the Specialist Hospital, the Chief Medical Director, Professor Isah Adagiri Yahaya noted that the visit was a pointer to the fact that the Maigari was determined to give back to the Society.

Maiyaki of Lokoja, Alhaji Aliyu Lawal Jiya who is the Chairman Planning Committee , extolled the virtues of the Maigari , saying the gesture demonstrates true love for mankind.

The Maigari had earlier visited some Primary Health Care Centres within Lokoja where he donated drugs and other consumables.
