The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfe the fourth has called on Christians to be guided by the lessons of Christ who laid his life for the redemption of mankind.
In an Easter message in Lokoja, the Maigari noted that Christ did well by demonstrating love and compassion, saying that no other love could be more than that, urging Christians to reflect on such love as they mark the festivity.
Alhaji Ibrahim also appealed to them to use the period to pray for a more united Kogi State and the leaders, highlighting the place of peace and unity for rapid growth and development.
While congratulating Christians on the Easter celebration, the Maigari called on the people to embrace peaceful coexistence as it is necessary for an egalitarian society.
According to him, the state will remain one indivisible entity and prayed for the continued development of Kogi State.
Alhaji Ibrahim felicitated with the Government and people of the state and urged leaders at all levels to put the interest of the masses above personal aggrandizement and commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for payment of Salaries ahead of the Easter celebration.
“It is on record that this government has prioritized the welfare of workers and the people, again, the government paid the April Salaries at the middle of the month and workers are happy for it. This is a sign of a responsive government and I will urge the people to pray for the Governor and his team”, the Maigari stated.
In another development, the Maigari of Lokoja has congratulated the Anglican Communion of Lokoja Diocese on its coming Synod.
The Maigari praised the leadership of the Church for its consistency in the Synod and other programmes and prayer for the state, appealing to the Bishop not to lose sight of the enormous challenges.
He praised the Bishop, Emmanuel Egnunu on the feet attained so far and wished the Church a successful Synod.
