The Managing Director, National-Hydroelectric Power Producing Area Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq says the seven hundred and five Kogi youths trained under its skill acquisition programme will get their starter packs in the next couple of weeks.
Alhaji Abubakar stated this during a Stakeholders meeting under the N-HYPPADEC “Youth Transformation Programme” (YTP) across six states of the commission.
The Managing Director who was represented by the Director, Finance and Administration, Alhaji Jimoh Haruna Gabi said the delay in the starter packs for onward distribution was due to paucity of funds, but noted the materials have started coming in and by August, the contractors should have finished supplying all the materials.
According to him, there is no need for panic as all those trained will get their starter packs and commended Kogi youths for their patience and understanding with the commission.
He also stated that, the youths who have been trained will be trainers to other trainees and employer to other employees, stressing that it will boost the economical activities of the state and enhance standard of living.
He stated that, anyone caught selling the starter packs will be punished by the law.
Similarly, His Royal Highness, Ohiegba of Mozum, Bukar Khalid praised the commission for their efforts in engaging youths and bringing development to their communities.
Also, the Kogi State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Benjamin Jeremiah commended N-HYPPADEC for the good work, while urging Kogi youths to continue to remain calm, as hope was in sight for the distribution of material.
