The people of Kogi State have been called upon to conduct themselves in an orderly manner before, during and after Saturday’s governorship election.
The call is contained in a statement by the State Chairman of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Ambassador Usman Bello and Secretary, Alhaji Isa Adeboye in Lokoja.
According to the statement, the election is an opportunity for the people to vote for leaders that will lead the state to all round development and not a period to fight.
It noted that every man was created by God to relate peacefully with his neighbor before joining various political parties, hence the need to eschew violence and embrace peace.
The statement urged the people to come out enmasse and vote for candidates of their choice and as well avoid acts of rancor, hooliganism and violence.
It enjoined the electorate to be orderly and perform their franchise in line with the rule of law.
