The immediate past Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Enema Paul, is dead.
Enema Paul died in an illness in Abuja at a private hospital in the early hours of today, Saturday.
Until his death, Hon Paul was the member representing Dekina-Okura State Constituency in the current eight Kogi State House of Assembly.
Enema Paul stepped down as Kogi State Deputy Speaker on health grounds, and was later replaced by the member representing Ibaji State Constituency, Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Aliyu Umar Yusuf has commiserated with the family of the former Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Enema Paul who died in the early hours of Saturday.
The Speaker in a statement in Lokoja by his Chief Press Secretary, Yabagi Mohammed, described the deceased Assembly member as a friend, temperate, humble, team-playing, committed lawmaker and public servant.
According to the Speaker, the former deputy speaker was a man that exemplified commitment to the unity of the state having demonstrated genuine desire to enhanced pro – people legislature for overall development.
He noted that late Enema Paul was also a devout Christian who saw beyond religion and whose godliness and commitment to family values was unquestionable, and prayed for Almighty God to admit his soul into his bosom.
The Speaker also prayed to God to grant the immediate family and members of the current and immediate past Assembly fortitude to bear the huge loss.
