Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has approved the sum of ten thousand Naira as harmonization allowance for all pensioners in Kogi state
The governor gave the approval after the presentation of the pension lift report by the Head of Civil Service Mr Elijah Evenemi.
The Governor said his administration is committed in prioritizing the welfare of senior citizens
He appreciated the pensioners for their service during their active service year
Governor Ododo said his administration will continue to build on the achievement of the former Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
He said Pensioners that earn less than fifty thousand Naira will be enrolled into the health insurance scheme both at from state and local Governments.
The Governor said since assumption of office, pensioners have been receiving their monthly pensions as at when due.
Earlier, the State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Mr Ohida Otaru appreciated the governor for the audience given the union after twenty years of not having an interface with a governor for the positive adjustment of the welfare of their members.
Mr Ohida also praised the governor for using the resources of the state for her citizens to impact on the people positively and for paying one hundred percent salaries to Local Government staff.
He particularly commended the governor for the adjustment of the pensions which he noted will go a long way to improve the welfare of the senior citizens.
while presenting the reportthe State Head of Service, Mr Elijah Evinemi said the state governor is passionate in prioritizing the welfare of the retirees.
Similarly, the Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Onu Edoka praised Governorr Ododo for prompt approval of Seventy two thousand five hundred Naira Minimum wage for workers saying the gesture was a demonstration of the governor’s love for the welfare of the people.
