Breaking: Attah Igala Confers Iganya Ata-Igala on Kogi Deputy Speaker

The Deputy Speaker, Kogi State State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba has been conferred the traditional title, Iganya Ata-Igala in Idah.

The Attah Igala, His Royal Majesty, Mathew Alaji Opaluwa gave the Chieftaincy title to the Kogi State Deputy Speaker in Idah on Saturday.

She was recognized by the revered monarch in Kogi State for her selfless service to humanity.

Speaking at the reception ceremony, the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf thanked the Attah Igala for recognizing their illustrious daughter for the prestigious title noting that, Hon. Comfort Nwuchiola Egwaba is a dependable ally who has contributed immensely for the development of Kogi State.

He commended the people of Ibaji Local Government for producing a Woman of substance, stressing that, the Deputy Speaker is intelligent, accommodating and has alot of wisdom in approaching issues.

According to the Speaker”I want to thank the People of Ibaji for producing an iron lady who survived the political unslaught of 2023. She is a person who I can has depend on without any political coup. I must commend the people of Ibaji for their support in making her to succeed.

“This title is for the current Assembly and she is the one holding it for us. On behalf of the management of Kogi State House of Assembly, we want to thank you all for your solidarity and support. With what we have seen so far, we are now challenged to do more”.

Responding, the Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba thanked the Attah Igala for recognizing her contributions in the State.

She promised to keep putting her best towards ensuring that her constituents get the true dividend of democracy.

“I am highly elated for my conferment as the Iganya Ata-Igala. This Chieftancy title conferred on me is a quick reminder for us not to forget our cultural heritage. The preservation of our cultural heritage remains a corner stone for the development of our society. Let all join our hands to build Kogi State and Nigeria at large through our rich tradition” he stated.
