The Apa-Agila Community in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State has received a major boost in healthcare services through a 3-day free medical outreach organized by the Apa-Agila Community Development Initiative (AACDI).
The outreach, held from Friday, April 11 to Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the Apa Primary Healthcare Centre, attracted large numbers of community members seeking medical attention. The medical team, led by Chief Medical Consultant Dr. Peter Aboh, comprised three medical doctors, several nurses, and pharmacists who offered a range of essential healthcare services.
Declaring the outreach open, the Chairman of Ado LGA, Engr. Sunny Oche, represented by the Council Secretary, John Egwurube, praised AACDI for their commitment to the community’s development. He specifically commended Chief Dr. Ochapa Ogenyi, the initiator of the program, for his dedication to the growth of the area.
Speaking during the event, Senator Abba Patrick Moro, who represents Benue South Senatorial District and serves as the Minority Leader in the Senate, reiterated his commitment to supporting community development initiatives. Represented by his Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief George Alli, Senator Moro applauded the outreach and reaffirmed his dedication to improving healthcare access across the nine Local Government Areas in his Senatorial District.
Senator Moro, who had earlier donated drugs worth millions of naira towards the outreach, emphasized the importance of healthcare as a fundamental right. He urged community members to take advantage of the free medical services, stressing the need for preventive care and regular check-ups.
During the outreach, Chief George Alli also paid a courtesy visit to the Apa Ward Head, Chief Engr. Moses Obande, who expressed deep appreciation to Senator Moro for his continuous support for the Apa-Agila people.
Participants of the program expressed profound gratitude to the organizers, noting the positive impact the initiative had on their health and general well-being.
