UEC Secondary School Lokoja holds Graduation Ceremony, Promises To Uphold Vision Of Founding Fathers

Government at all levels have been urged to make education accessible to all Nigerians to reduce illiteracy level.

A religious leader, Architect John Idachaba made the call on Monday at the graduation ceremony of United Evangelical Church, UEC Secondary School, Lokoja.

It is the tradition of Schools to hold special sessions called graduation ceremonies, marking the end of the academic session.

This called for such gathering by the United Evangelical Secondary School, Lokoja, where parents gathered to rejoice with their graduating children.

Speaking at the occasion, Architect Idachaba who was chairman of the occasion said the poverty level among the people and the rising cost of education calls for concern, hence the need to reverse the trend.

He commended the management of the School for its impressive performance in all public examinations and called for sustained efforts.

Also speaking, the Proprietor of the school who is also the Lokoja Superintendent of UEC, Reverend Samuel Essien urged parents to give proper attention to the educational development of their children, saying knowledge is essential to all.

Reverend Samuel acknowledged the contribution of teachers to the transformation of the society, adding that the school should be appreciated for its good works over the years.

In his remarks, the Principal of the school, Mr Jibrin Sunday Ojodale explained that the School has been exceptional, both in terms of academics and moralty.

Mr Ojodale maintained that the management will.continue to uphold the vision of its founding fathers, assuring that teachers will be kept on their toes to attain the feat.

The Principal expressed appreciation to the Board of Governors, teachers and parents for their cooperation, urging the graduating students to be good ambassadors of the UEC Secondary school.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of gifts to deserving staff and students, including a Student, Daramola Ayomide who scored over three hundred in the recent JAMB examination and other side attractions.
