Seven bills have passed first reading on the floor of the Kogi State House of Assembly.
The bills which emanated from the executive and read by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Umar Aliyu Yusuf followed a letter from Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for consideration and passage by the House.
The bills are Kogi State Scholarship Board Edict 1998, repeal and re-enactment, Kogi State Electricity Market and Electricity Regulatory Commission and Kogi State Commodity Exchange, Export Promotion and Market Development Agency, bill 2024.
Others are; Kogi State Mineral Resources Development Law 2016, repeal and re-enactment, Kogi State Local Government Service Commission law 2014, repeal and re-enactment, bill 2024.
The rest are; Kogi State Information Technology Development Agency as well as Kogi State Anti-Corruption Agency, bill 2024.
The Speaker in his submission noted that these bills when passed into law will boost the socio-economic landscape of Kogi State.
