The new General Overseer of the Christian Evangelical Fellowship of Nigeria, Reverend Malachi Ogakwu says his vision is to ensure the realization of the dreams of its founding fathers.
Reverend Ogakwu stated this on Saturday shortly after his inauguration at the CEFN Mission Headquarters, Iyale Road, Anyigba in Dekina Local Government Area.
He stated that though there were challenges, efforts would be intensified to achieve set goals aimed at moving CEFN forward, especially in terms of global evangelism, spiritual upliftment and infrastructural development.
The General Overseer called on the members to support him, explaining that the task ahead required collective responsibility.
Provost, United Missionary Theological College, Ilorin, Reverend Doctor Ebenezar Kayode who spoke on topic “The weight of stewardship”, said the changes in the society needed drastic prayers.
Reverend Ebenezer explained that the endemic corruption and advancement in technology demanded that leaders remain accountable, both to God and humanity.
He urged Christians to be guided by the principles of God, adding that everyone should be upright in his or her conducts as it is necessary to make the best use of time which when used uselessly, cannot be regained.
Earlier, the Outgoing General Overseer. Rev. Doctor David Bala Usman said he was happier than when he took over.
Reverend David Urged CEFN members in diaspora to remember the mission Headquarters to ensure rapid development and appreciated the Board of Trustees, Zonal pastors, leaders at all levels in the Mission and others for the support.
Present at the inauguration were the Kogi State CAN Chairman, Special Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Olaniyan Adebayo, General Overseers of various Missions, denominational leaders, Sunday Oguche of God’s care Mission, Okpo, Rev John Odoh of Message of the Cross Ministry, CAN leaders from Local Governments, the Jaamatu Nasir Islam, JNI, led by its chairman, Ambassador Usman Bello and other well wishers from far and near.
Reverend Malachi Ogakwu is the sixth substantive General Overseer of the CEFN Mission Incorporated.
Highlight of the event was the administration of Oath of office by the legal officer of the Mission, Barrister John Bolo Achile and special prayer of consecration on the new General Overseer.
