Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, has expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the governorship election in the Central Senatorial District of Kogi State.
Ododo made this known shortly after casting his vote at his polling unit 001 to 9 at RCM school, Upogoro, in Okene Local Govt Area.
The candidate who commended the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC as well as Security Agencies for the role they played during the exercise assured the public of his victory at the poll
“I just cast my vote , as you can see it’s just like a carnival and I want to use this medium to commend the INEC management for putting in place a very transparent hitch-free electoral process and again the security agencies they are doing very wonderful ”
“As you can see the election is peaceful and orderly you should know very welll I’m on ground this is my village, I’m close to the people as you can see everybody is happy we are winning and winning very well”
Speaking shortly after he exercising his franchise at Gov Bello’s polling unit 11, Agassa-Uvete, the Director-General, Bureau of Land and Urban Development, Alhaji Nazir Ochi, mainained that the election is one of the best in the history of Kogi State especially in Kogi Central.
The DG noted that the massive turnout of electorate was impressive and encouraging, noting that the people voted with unison in one direction.
He also praised INEC for ensuring that the BVAS that function perfectly without any hitches.
Head of the security personnel, at the polling units in Adavi Local Govt Secretariat, Superintendent Yohannah Amanah , said officers commenced security coverage three days ago with most of the personnel deployed to each polling units to ensure safety at the poll.
He assured that every ballot paper will be carefully guided to avoid irregularities.
An electorate who spoke in an interview at polling unit 002, Adavi Local Govt Secretariat, Kimat Onono, said she expects victory for her candidate at the end of the poll, adding that the security agencies had up their game to ensure proper security of the voters and the electoral materials.
Our reporter noted that there was high turn out of voters in most of the polling units visited in Okene Local Government Area of the State where Gov Yahaya Bello and the APC Candidate ,Usman Ododo hails from, with a calm atmosphere and tight security the election went on peaceful
