Kogi State Governor,Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has said his administration will deliver 99 per cent of votes in the state for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Governor Ododo stated this on Monday in Lokoja while inaugurating the Kogi State chapter of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre.

The governor said the movement must intensify grassroots mobilisation and sensitise voters to the benefits of the Federal Government’s economic reforms.

He charged members of the group to take the campaign beyond political gatherings to markets, villages, streets and households, adding that victory would only come through personal engagement and credible communication.

“I commend your commitment and efforts towards providing the necessary logistics for our door-to-door campaign. I want to advise that these vehicles must carry our message to every street, every market, every village and every household,” Ododo said.

According to him, providing campaign vehicles and other logistics alone would not guarantee electoral victory, stressing that members must convince voters through meaningful engagement.

Governor Ododo said President Tinubu inherited daunting economic challenges and had shown courage in introducing reforms aimed at addressing long-standing structural problems.

On security, he commended the President for supporting efforts to tackle criminality in Kogi and other parts of the country, and expressed support for the proposed state police, saying decentralised policing would strengthen security operations and bring law enforcement closer to the people.

The governor also lauded the Federal Government’s renewed attention to the Abuja-Lokoja highway, which he described as critical to transportation, trade and economic activities.

He cited the establishment of new industries in the state as evidence of an improved investment climate, disclosing that he recently visited a lubricant-producing company employing over 200 people in the state.

Earlier, founder of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, described Tinubu as a bold leader whose reforms were aimed at fixing the country’s age-long challenges.

Tompolo, who was represented by Kenstin Pondi, said the President had taken tough decisions since assuming office in May 2023, including reforms in revenue allocation and the power sector, which had expanded the capacity of states to execute development projects.

He urged members of the movement to intensify mobilisation for Tinubu’s re-election, noting that continuity was needed to consolidate ongoing reforms.

Also speaking, the National Coordinator of the movement for the North-Central, Sunday Asuku, called on Nigerians to support the President by participating actively in the electoral process.

In her remarks, the newly inaugurated Woman Leader of the movement in Kogi State, Habitat Salisu, thanked the group for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to work with other members to strengthen its activities across the state.

The event featured the inauguration and unveiling of 25 campaign vehicles, generators and public address systems to support the group’s activities across the state.
