Kogi Youth Security Summit Holds October 8 in Lokoja

The Kogi Youth Security Summit will hold on Thursday, October 8, 2026, in Lokoja, the state capital, with government officials, youths, traditional rulers and other stakeholders expected to deliberate on peace, security and community development.

The summit is being organised by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter, in collaboration with the Kogi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

A statement by the ministry’s Information Officer, James Sani, explained that the event would take place at the Key Galaxy Event Centre, opposite the Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lokoja, from ten o’clock in the morning.

According to the statement, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is the chief host, while former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello is expected to receive a special award at the event.

The National Security Adviser to the President, Nuhu Ribadu, is billed to deliver the keynote address.

Other dignitaries expected at the summit include the Deputy Governor, Joel Salifu Oyibo; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Ali Bello; and the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Monday Anyebe, who will host the event.

The organisers said the summit would provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss security challenges, peaceful coexistence and community development, while strengthening youth participation in peacebuilding and community security.

They urged invited guests, stakeholders and members of the public to attend the summit.
