The management of the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, has thrown its weight behind the 35th anniversary celebration of Radio Kogi, scheduled for August 27.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Abdulrahaman Asipita Salawu, gave the assurance when he received the management of the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, led by its Director-General, Princess Nana Hauwa Yusuf, in Osara.
Salawu also announced that Vice-President Kashim Shettima will inaugurate the Barefoot Renewable Energy College at the institution today.

According to him, the college is an initiative of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, established to train indigent youths in renewable energy generation and skill acquisition.
He said students of the university would be mandated to enrol in the college to acquire vocational skills that would make them self-reliant after graduation.
The VC assured the delegation of the university’s full support for the successful hosting of the 35th anniversary of the state broadcasting corporation.
Earlier,the Director General of the State Radio, Princess Nana Hauwa Yussuff solicited the support of the university for the anniversary celebration.

She assured the VC of adequate coverage of the university’s activities, noting that the state radio is committed to wider coverage of events and effective dissemination of government policies and programmes.
Princess Nana also disclosed plans to extend the station’s broadcast hours from 13 to 16 hours daily after the anniversary.
In his remarks, the Registrar of the university, Mrs Glory Ojochogu Yakubu, commended the management of the corporation for its support and assured them of the institution’s readiness to reciprocate the gesture.
Also speaking, the Director of News and Current Affairs, Pastor Gowon Edibo, thanked the university management for granting the audience and assured that the station would continue to give adequate coverage to the university’s activities.

Other members of the corporation’s management team on the visit included the Director of Accounts, Pastor Dan Awodi; Director of Commercial Services, Alhaji Labran Aminu; Director of Programmes, Hajia Habibat Umar; Director of Administration, Mr Silas Omotosho; and the Deputy Director, Commercial Services, Mr Getine Omoja.
