Ohunene Empowerment Initiative Donates Wheelchairs to Kogi Specialist Hospital, Lokoja

In furtherance of its humanitarian interventions to ease difficulties among vulnerable groups, the Ohunene Empowerment Initiative (OEI) has donated five wheelchairs to the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja.

The Initiative also donated seven additional wheelchairs and cash gifts to selected patients for their personal use.

Presenting the wheelchairs on Friday at the hospital, the Founder of the Ohunene Empowerment Initiative and Wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajiya Sefinat Usman Ododo, said the gesture was aimed at improving access to healthcare for vulnerable individuals and enhancing patient mobility within the facility.

Represented by the Wife of the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Princess Karimat Abdullahi, the First Lady emphasized the importance of inclusion in achieving all-round development in the state.

She noted that vulnerable persons must be adequately supported to live dignified and productive lives.

The First Lady assured that the Ohunene Empowerment Initiative would continue to roll out more humanitarian interventions to bring succour to individuals, groups, and communities in need across Kogi State.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the management and staff, the Acting Chief Medical Director of the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, Dr. Oluseyi Bamidele Folagbade, expressed appreciation to the First Lady for what he described as a noble and timely gesture.

Dr. Folagbade assured that the wheelchairs would significantly enhance mobility services for patients in the hospital and pledged that they would be properly utilized and maintained for the benefit of patients.

He also reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to delivering quality, professional medical care to patients and residents of the state.

Some caregivers and patients at the facility also applauded the Ohunene Empowerment Initiative for the donation, offering prayers for continued success for the First Lady, her family and the Ododo-led administration in Kogi State.
