‎Lawmaker Stresses Need For Unity For Community Dev As Abocho Dev Association Holds End Of Year Get-together

‎Member representing Dekina/Biraidu Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Honourable Usman Ochidi has emphasized the need for unity and commitment in achieving an aggressive community development.

‎Honourable Usman Ochidi made the remark on Sunday at the end of year get-together of the Lokoja branch of Abocho Development Association.

‎He noted that development requires collective efforts, explaining that Abocho and Biraidu District at large have been in dire need of development, hence the need for all hands to be on deck.



‎The lawmaker therefore Called for the promotion of peace and unity among the people, stressing that everyone should avoid negative tendencies and advised against what he described as pull him down syndrome.

‎Honourable Ochidi noted that he has embarked on several development projects, including provision of potable water, hospitals renovation, schools, and empowerment programmes among others, saying his mission is to serve sincerely.

‎According to him, all the wards in the Constituency will feel the impact of his representation at the Assembly, urging the people to pray and support him.

‎The legislator commended the leadership of Abocho Development Association, ADA, for putting the house in order and ensuring a successful end of year ceremony and assured of necessary cooperation with the Association.

‎Honourable Ochidi also promised an empowerment programme for the women in the Association in view of their roles in the home and instantly registered as a member.

‎In his remarks, the Patron of the Association and retired Permanent Secretary, Elder John Ausa said there was need for sincerity of purpose among members.

‎Elder Ausa also urged the leaders and followers to be upright in their doings, emphasizing that only God gives wealth and power to whom he wishes.

‎”It is important to note that there is nothing in life, life is transcient and we will go with nothing, therefore, all of you must work hard to live uprightly and enjoy the life hereafter. I congratulate you all for witnessing the end of the year and I believe strongly that God will continue to lead us through”, Elder John Ausa stated.

‎Also Speaking, former Director General in Kogi State, Alhaji Abubakar Akowe appreciated the team spirit of the members of ADA, saying he was impressed on the outing.

‎Alhaji Abubakar advised the members to support their leaders and initiate ideas to move the Association forward, adding that the task of promoting Abocho’s growth and development requires collective efforts.

‎Earlier, the Chairman of the Association, Mallam Muktar Shaibu said the event was to acknowledge the good works of God Almighty as shown in the lives of members.

‎Mallam Muktar Shaibu expressed appreciation to members for their support so far, urging them to do more in the coming year in order to attain set objectives for the Community.

‎Other speakers, including Doctor Samuel Atuluku who appealed against unwanted behavior capable of pulling the Association down, while Esther Ibara Emmanuel told the members to take their health serious by ensuring routine medical check up for longevity of life.

‎Highlight of the ceremony was special prayers for the Association, its leaders, Abocho community and Biraidu District at large as well as cultural dances and breaking of Cola nut.
