The death of the Etsu Bassa nge, Retired Brigadier General Abu Ali has been described as a great loss to Bassa Local Government and Kogi State in general.

The member representing Bassa Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Mr Sunday Daku made the remark while reacting to the demise of the revered traditional ruler in Lokoja.

Mr Daku said the news of the death of the Etsu Bassa nge came to him with rude shock describing the late monarch as a father to all in the Local Government and the state in general.

” Although death is inevitable, the death of the Etsu Bassa nge, Brigadier General Abu Ali at this very crucial moment of the country’s development is painful.
He was a man dedicated to the unity and development his domain, the state and the country at all times. We will miss him dearly.” Mr Daku noted.

He said the demise of Retired Brigadier General, Abu Ali has created a vacuum too difficult to fill in view of his wealth of experience.

“The shocking death of our revered traditional Father, HRM. Chief Mopa Abu Ali III, Etsu of Bassa-Nge Kingdom, came to me as a rude shock. It’s so disheartening that we had to lose our monarch at a time his wisdom, experience is needed most. I pray for the peaceful repose of his soul and commiserate with the entire Bassa-Nge Kingdom, Bassa Local Government council, his family and friends. This is a national loss. May his soul rest in Aljanatul Firdaus, Ameen” the statement added.

Mr Daku who Commiserated with the family of the deceased, the Bassa Area Traditional Council and the Bassa nge Traditional Council over the death of the Etsu and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost.
