World Children Day: Crowther Memorial College Students Call For More Security in Schools in Kogi

As the World Mark Children’s Day, some students of Crowther Memorial College Lokoja have called on security agencies to improve security at schools across Kogi State.

 

The call is coming following the abduction of some school Children in Kebbi and Niger States

 

Speaking on a Special Talk Show Programme to commemorate the World Children’s Day, a Student of SS3, Crowther Memorial College Lokoja, Usman Mohammed expressed worry over the attack on the school, appealing to governments at all levels to step up security at schools in the state.

 

According to him, education which is one of the components of Child Rights is being threatened by insecurity, saying urgent steps must be taken to nip the situation in the bud.

 

On her part, Fatima Abubakar, an SS2 students emphasized the need to provide improved health care service for children and employment of qualified teachers in Schools.

 

The theme of this year’s celebration is “My Day My Right,” and is celebrated every 20th of November.
