Kogi State Governor, AAlaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on Wednesday commissioned the Folashade Ayoade Initiative for Widows and Orphans FAIWO Orphanage, built by the Secretary to the Government of the State.
This was part of activities to celebrate the sixtieth birthday of the SGS in Lokoja.
Dignitaries both within and outside the country, family and friends gathered in Lokoja to celebrate a Woman described as a trailblazer, team Leader and an Administrator per Excellence, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade, Secretary to the Government of Kogi State.
One of the climax of the birthday ceremony was the Commissioning of the Folashade Ayoade Initiative for Widows and Orphans FAIWO Orphanage Home, a pet project of the SGS.
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo in a message to the Commissioning, described the SGS as an asset and blessing to his administration, saying she is a good example to be emulated.
Represented by the State Head of Service, Dr. Elijah Evinemi, the Governor directed all State Political appointees to emulate the gesture of Mrs. Ayoade in reaching out to the less privileged as it is service to God and humanity.
While Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ayodele Enitan Ogunwusi, represented by Oba Muraina Adebanjo Adedini, the Asoya of Ile Isoya, described the SGS as a pride to the Yoruba Kingdom, the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi congratulated her on the sixty years milestone.
Kogi State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara said the celebrant is a pride of Kogi State, who has contributed to the development of the State in the last nine years and to the less privileged.
The Chairman, Governing Council of the State University Kabba, Professor Suleiman Sadiku and the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kehinde Eniola described Mrs. Ayoade as a humble woman and a disciplinarian, who believes in doing the right thing.
On her part, the Celebrant, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade attributed the sixty years of bliss to the act and mercy of God, assuring of her commitment to serving God and the people better.
The SGS and her team had earlier visited Rehoboth Children’s Home, where they celebrated and donated items to the Home.
The SSA to the President on Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Olushola Enikanolaye, Secretary to the Government of Ogun State, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, Director General of Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Princess Nana Hauwa Yussuf were among the dignitaries that attended the event.
