RHI:Kogi First Lady Flags Off Distribution of Agricultural Inputs and Equipment to Women and Youth Farmers

Wife of Nigeria President Senator Oluremi Tinubu has reiterated commitment to support farmers in the state.

Senator Oluremi stated this at the flag-off and distribution of farm inputs and equipment to farmers under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Agricultural Support Programme In Kogi State.

The Renewed Hope Initiative is the pet project of Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with the core objective to transform lives through various programs in health, education, agriculture, social investment and economic empowerment.

Consequently, the Renewed Hope Initiative is being implemented in the 36 States under the Office of the First Lady of each State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu who was represented by the Wife of Kogi State Governor Hajiya Sefinat Ahmed Usman Ododo explained that the Renewed Hope Initiatives (RHI) focuses on four key agricultural support programmes aimed at transforming agriculture and improving livelihoods in Nigeria.

Senator Oluremi explained that the four key agricultural support programmes are Women Agricultural Support Programme, Youth Agricultural Support Programme, Every Home a Garden Initiative and Young Farmers Club.

She expressed delight and sense of fulfillment as she sow the seed of kindness, hope and empowerment for Kogi women as well as Youths for food security

Senator Oluremi urged them to use the implements judiciously to boost productivity and create wealth while ensuring no one is left behind.

Kogi State project Coordinator of Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) Mr Abdul Kabir Onoruoiza has reiterated commitment to Improving policy formulation for livestock productivity in the state.

Onoruoiza who noted that the state implementation committee would not relent in it efforts to create enormous impact in the State, appreciated President Tinubu, his wife Senator Oluremi Tinubu Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his wife Hajiya Sefinat for prioritizing agriculture development.

Kogi State Commissioner for Agriculture Mr. Timothy Ojomah expressed delight saying that the project would enable women and youth maximize their potentials in agriculture.

He appreciated governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for being passionate about the farmers stressing that assisted fertilizers were also distributed recently to aid the farmers yields

Mr. Timothy noted that as a testament to Governor Ododo’s commitment to agriculture production processing and marketing he sent some youth from from the Kogi to Ogun state to be trained on smart agriculture.

One of the beneficiaries Elizabeth Ayodele appreciated Senator Oluremi and Hajiya Sefinat for carrying them along and giving them hope.

Urged the recipient to use it judiciously for economic reliance, appreciated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his wife for always being proactive in all ramifications.

Implements distributed are Improved Cassava Stems, Treated maize seeds 10kg bags, Knapsack sprayers, Assorted herbicides cartons, Liquid Organic fertilizers,  wheelbarrows, Hybrid feeds(Starter & Finisher), 2weeks chickens, Grinding machines, Coconut palm seedlings, Hoes, Water spraying cans, Tomatoes, pepper seedlings, Among others.
