Kogi State Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, has reaffirmed his commitment to serving Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, stating that he has no aspirations beyond supporting his principal.
During a meeting with the leadership of the Christian Evangelical Fellowship of Nigeria (CEFN) at his office in Lokoja, Deputy Governor Salifu emphasized his unwavering dedication to the current administration’s goals, particularly the implementation of the Advance New Direction Agenda.
He cautioned against excessive ambition, which can lead to a loss of direction and focus due to greed and over zealousness. Instead, he praised Governor Ododo’s achievements in enhancing security, infrastructure development, and civil service reforms.
Deputy Governor Salifu highlighted the administration’s efforts in addressing insecurity in Omala Local Government Area, implementing the 72,500 Naira minimum wage, and providing periodic palliatives to alleviate the impact of harsh economic conditions.
Deputy Governor Salifu urged the leaders to encourage the populace to move away from tribal politics and continue supporting Governor Ododo in serving the public effectively.
The General Overseer of CEFN Incorporated, REV. Dr. Malachi O Ogakwu commended the government for navigating through challenging economic conditions to improve the state’s overall condition.
He pledged the church’s support in promoting peaceful coexistence, combating poverty and unemployment, and fostering growth in education and agriculture within the state.
