The newly appointed National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has officially assumed office, pledging to reposition the ruling party for greater achievements.

Yilwatda, who emerged as the party’s national chairman on Thursday during the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at the State House, Abuja, wasted no time in resuming work immediately after his swearing-in.

Arriving at the APC National Secretariat, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs was accompanied by a large entourage and excited supporters.

Jubilant party loyalists welcomed him as he made his way into the secretariat to formally take charge of party affairs.

Presiding over his first National Working Committee (NWC) meeting shortly after arrival, Yilwatda charged members of the committee to work collectively in repositioning the APC for greater success. He described the NWC members as his “friends and partners,” urging them to demonstrate teamwork and commitment to the growth of the party.

“We will increase membership, deepen the use of technology, and ensure transparency in all our activities,” Yilwatda assured.

According to him, the APC enjoys massive support not only within Nigeria but also from Nigerians in the diaspora, a feat he attributed to the dedication of party members.

He urged stakeholders to continue building on that legacy in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Yilwatda likened the APC to a vehicle and the NWC to “mechanics” saddled with the responsibility of fixing, driving, and maintaining the party until it reaches its desired destination.

“It’s our collective effort, and by the time we put our hands on the deck, this Party will be greater” He added.
