The Sheria-Oguma bridge in Bassa Local Government is to be completed early next year.
The Assistant Resident Engineer, Ameh Abraham Enemali gave the assurance when a Special Assistant to Governor Yahaya Bello from the area, Mr Timothy Akubo visited the site to inspect the ongoing project.
Engineer Enemali said the work is almost eighty percent completed as the last pillar is being casted assuring that work on the casting will be completed before Christmas while laying of the cast will be done early next year.
Earlier, the Special Assistant to the Governor, Mr. Timothy Akubo said they are on the site to debunk a social media insinuation by opposition parties that work has since stopped on the site, describing the post as malicious.
He praised Governor Yahaya Bello for fulfilling his promise of completing the bridge project before the end of his tenure.
” We are here to debunk social media post describing the recent progress on Oguma-Sheria Bridge as an old picture. As you can see, work is ongoing and they are casting the last pillar and laying will be in January which will make the bridge motorable” Mr Akubo stated.
Mr Akubo said the people of Bassa Local Government believe in the capacity of Governor Yahaya Bello saying that is the reason Bassa Local Government is the only area from Kogi East that voted for the APC.
