Women Inclusiveness Will Continue To Receive Attention In Sporting Activities- Kogi Commissioner for Youth And Sports, Anyebe

Women in the sports sector in Kogi State have been assured of total Inclusiveness in the sporting activities.

Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe disclosed this while receiving an Award of a Gender in Equality Balancing Fifty Fifty Representation by the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Women Commission to Kogi State Government at the just concluded of the Gateway Games in Abeokuta, Ogun state in his office in Lokoja.

The award was in recognition of the state’s equal representation of male and female athletes in the competition in just concluded Abeokuta Ogun state Gateway Games National sports festival.

Kogi State has been presented with a Cup indicating the state with Gender in Equality Balancing Fifty Fifty Representation by the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Women Commission at the closing ceremony of the Gateway Games in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The award was in recognition of the state’s equal representation of male and female athletes in the competition.

Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe explained that the award  shows that Kogi State under the dynamic leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo was gender sensitive and would always remain fair and just to all the citizens.

Hon. Anyebe said the award was not a surprise to him based on the directive of the present administration under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for involving women in the sporting activities in the state.

The Commissioner commended the athletes for their resilience and sportsmanship during the games and promised a better outing in future competitions.

He praised  Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his commitment to the growth and development of sporting activities in kogi State.

The Commissioner also commended the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Women Commission for recognizing Kogi State in gender equality saying the present administration under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is committed to the growth and development of Youth and women empowerment in the state.

Leading the team of management from the sports council for the presentation of the Award, Elder Adejoh Akowe described the State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo as a Man of honour and integrity in the development of sporting activities in the state.

He commended the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe for his role model in the Youth and Sports sector and congratulated the state government, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and Sports Council for the Award.
